Congress has a responsibility for overseeing and funding the successful functioning of the federal government. In many decades, the number of employees in federal agencies have remained relatively the same, yet the population has grown significantly, and the number of services and regulations has increased. The cutting that is going on now is devastating. It clearly will undermine agencies functioning on basic services and important ones like vaccine research. Do not sit by and watch the president and his cabinet do these drastic cuts. Congress has a responsibility to stand up and speak out and investigate and prevent excessive destruction of the government’s capacity to function properly for the benefit of the American public.
