Every day is a joke at how bad things are with a clown show running the country. David Geier is a major player in the anti vaccine movement and has been tasked by the Department of Health and Human Services to conduct a study looking for a link between immunizations and autism. This is incredulous and jaw dropping. There already is mountains of evidence and studies that show no link between vaccinations and autism. Not one paper published in a respectable journal has clinical or epidemiological data that supports the claim that vaccines cause autism. 160 studies from around the world involving millions of children for decades show there was no link or that there is a protective effect. The research runs the gamut from high quality clinical trials to huge epidemiological cohort and case control studies to gold standard systemic reviews and meta analyses. One meta analysis of five cohort studies involved 1,256,407 children and a systemic review in 2021 included 87 studies and 13 million children. Scientists and physicians around the world are not colluding together to hurt children with vaccines. It is balderdash to suggest that there is some vast conspiracy that all these scientists around the world that work on vaccine studies are in on a plan to harm children. The science that vaccines do not cause autism is settled science. Vaccines are a stunning achievement that has saved the lives of an estimated 154 children worldwide over the last 50 years. David Geier does not have a medical degree but that did not stop him from practicing medicine without a license and getting disciplined by the Maryland Board of Physicians. The journal nature has named Greier and his father two of the top science deniers. They have a history of publishing horrible fatally flawed studies of vaccines in low quality open access journal that get torn up in peer review. Greier has zero credibility in the scientific community and has a long history of crankery. It is also dangerous that Robert Kennedy Jr suggests there are no risks to humans with the bird flu. He is wrong that a vaccine for birds would promote antigen shift when massive numbers of poultry and cattle are infected with the virus, which gives it plenty of opportunity to mutate. Massive vaccination would reduce the infections which in turn will reduce the rate of mutations. His suggestion to use antivirals is absurd because the virus can mutate to become resistant to the antivirals. Although there has not been many cases of human to human transmission yet that can change if the virus mutates through reassortment. Even if the fatality rate was low which it has not been in the cases where humans contracted the virus it can be devastating. The 1918 flu has a 2% fatality rate but killed 50 million people world wide.
