Vote NO on SB 1, 30, 36, 39

To: Rep. Dunahoo

From: A constituent in Hoschton, GA

March 29

As a Georgia constituent, I urge you to VOTE NO on SB 1, SB 30, SB 36, and SB 39. These bills target LGBTQ+ Georgians—especially transgender people—and would cause serious harm across our state. SB 30 bans essential, evidence-based care for trans youth—care endorsed by every major medical organization. These decisions should be made by families and doctors, not politicians. SB 36 creates a license to discriminate under the guise of religious freedom. Without statewide civil rights protections, this bill puts marginalized Georgians at risk of unchecked discrimination with no legal recourse. SB 39 blocks medically necessary care for trans people covered by the Georgia State Health Benefit Plan, care that improves mental health and quality of life. It also violates past legal agreements and will likely lead to more taxpayer-funded lawsuits—just like the 19 claims the state has already lost or settled, costing over $4 million. SB 1 unfairly targets trans youth in sports and is both unnecessary and harmful. These bills do real damage and solve nothing. Please vote NO on SB 1, SB 30, SB 36, and SB 39.
