Public education is critical for nearly 50 million children across America. The Department of Education supports 26 million students in underfunded schools, provides essential learning resources for 7.4 million students, and bridges funding gaps for 9.8 million students in rural communities. Dismantling this vital department would devastate these crucial programs that our students rely on. We cannot allow an attack on public education and our children's futures. Congress must reject President Trump's reckless plans by continuing to robustly fund and protect the Department of Education for the well-being of our nation's students.
