The Dismantling Government Act, or H.R. 1295, is a brazen attempt to circumvent the system of checks and balances and hand over sweeping authority to the Trump-Musk regime. This bill would grant the president filibuster-proof power to abolish federal agencies, gut regulatory protections, eliminate vital programs like Social Security and Medicare, and fire countless federal workers with no meaningful oversight. Since taking power, Trump and Musk have repeatedly overstepped their authority and acted outside the law in their efforts to dismantle the federal government. This legislation is their latest ploy to consolidate power and push through their radical, billionaire-friendly agenda unfettered. The American people did not vote for this dystopian nightmare of unchecked executive overreach. They expect Congress to serve as a check on the president, not give him carte blanche to tear down our government piece by piece on a whim. I urge you to reject this dangerous power grab and stand up for the separation of powers enshrined in our Constitution. The future of our democracy is at stake.
