I write to you with deep concern for our nation’s children—especially those with disabilities—who are being harmed by recent executive actions.
The effort to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education puts at risk essential federal protections and funding that ensure all children, regardless of ability, can learn, grow, and thrive. Programs like IDEA, Title I, and civil rights enforcement aren’t optional—they are critical. Without them, the most vulnerable are left behind.
This is not a partisan issue. Children with disabilities are future leaders, creators, workers, and community builders. When we support them early, we unlock lifelong potential. Disabled children who are given the right support grow into adults who make our society stronger—contributing across science, the arts, education, business, and beyond. The return on investment in their futures is immense.
We ask you to put children first. Protect their future—and in doing so, strengthen the future of our nation.
