The SAVE Act as proposed would implement strict voter ID requirements that risk excluding millions of eligible voters who lack the necessary documentation. Numerous studies show such policies disproportionately burden marginalized communities, seniors, low-income individuals, and those with disabilities. Rather than erecting barriers to the fundamental right to vote, Congress should explore measures to increase access and participation in our democratic process for all citizens. Protecting the integrity of elections is crucial, but not at the expense of excluding lawful voters.
