protect public access to knowledge and education!!!

I would like to request you pay special attention to making sure our libraries receive plentiful funding this year and be sure that our librarians are protected by the law and able to stock diverse materials discussing race, gender, sexuality, climate change, environmentalism, and other political issues. There is a widespread effort to erase diverse perspectives and scientific truth from government websites right now - they are literally control f deleting anything to do with diversity, equity, and inclusion and deleting our history and the historical accomplishments and achievements of minority groups. Please empower our public institutions to not comply with censorship efforts through financial and political support. For the good of our children and communities, the libraries must remain a bastion of knowledge. There is so much more that they do for us - I wrote my senior essay on the subject - but the books themselves are vital. Book bans are real. Do not let them thrive in California. If I see you make efforts to help our libraries flourish this year I will be forever grateful.
