As a parent and a supporter of educators, I urge you to vote no on HB 595. This bill is dangerous to librarians, educators at large, and our children. It does not restore or codify parents' "rights" in any way. No group that restricts access to or ban books is ever on the correct side of history. I trust educators. Politicians are welcome to make their own choices for their own children, but this is an irresponsible overreach that produces politically motivated hate and erasure, and attempts to indoctrinate all NC children under the guise of "protection."
