I’m writing to ask you to thoroughly investigate, using whatever methods are at your disposal, the unprecedented security breach regarding our country’s plans to bomb Yemen. Please keep talking about it. Make sure it isn’t dismissed as fake news by Trump. Republicans spent over a year talking about Hillary Clinton’s emails, which were inappropriate and risky but did not approach the seriousness of this breach. In this case, the vice-president, the secretary of Defense, the Director of National Intelligence, the director of the CIA, the National Security Advisor, and several other cabinet-level officials discussed detailed war plans on an insecure app. Don’t let this fact get lost in the disinformation-sphere. Please call for the resignation of at least the Secretary of Defense, the DNI, the National Security Advisor, and the CIA director over this serious, serious situation.  If they don’t resign, I’m asking you to call for their impeachment. We the people are counting on you to find out whether texting on insecure apps about national security issues is common practice in the Trump administration. If you find that it is (or was until now) common practice, then it should be laid at the feet of Trump. His cavalier attitude about national security is likely what led to this dangerous and sloppy treatment of national defense secrets. This should be articulated publicly. Trump claims he knew nothing about this incident.  If he did know about it, he is lying and he showed a dangerous disregard for national security.  If he really didn’t know about it, he is not acting as Commander in Chief. It is his responsibility to know what his people are doing.  He does not get to pass the buck.
