I’m sending this urgent call to action to both state and federal officials. The health of the American people is not just a federal responsibility—it’s one that will ultimately fall on the shoulders of states, counties, and cities as our national leadership abandons critical public health initiatives.
RFK Jr., now overseeing key areas of federal health policy, must be removed. His recent decision to terminate NIH grants (American Academy of Family Physicians, 3/27/2025) is a reckless blow to medical research and public health. These grants fund life-saving studies in cancer, chronic illness, maternal care, and more. Without them, the most vulnerable Americans—children, seniors, rural communities—will suffer first and worst.
The AAFP strongly condemned this decision, stating it “undermines the health of the American people” and ignores decades of proven, evidence-based science. The American Medical Association and American Academy of Pediatrics have also long criticized RFK Jr.’s spread of false vaccine information (AMA, 2022; AAP.org, 2023). He has no place in federal leadership, especially where lives are at stake.
This isn’t a partisan issue—it’s a public safety emergency. Our leaders at the city, state and federal level must act now.
We need swift removal of RFK Jr. from any role influencing U.S. health policy, and a recommitment to science-based governance before more lives and more trust are lost.
