Demand independent investigation into U.S. Attorney Jessica Aber's death

To: Sen. Alsobrooks, Sen. Van Hollen, Rep. Harris

From: A constituent in Forest Hill, MD

March 30

The circumstances surrounding Jessica Aber's death are highly concerning and demand a thorough, independent investigation. As a former U.S. Attorney handling sensitive national security cases, her sudden demise at the young age of 43 raises numerous red flags that cannot be dismissed as a mere "longstanding medical condition." The refusal by the 911 caller to perform CPR, the precision-timed resignation coinciding with the presidential transition, and the DOJ's immediate efforts to control the narrative around her death all point to a concerted cover-up. Moreover, the revelation that Aber was specifically targeted due to her "uncooperative" stance on ongoing prosecutions implicating private defense contractors and foreign policy assets is deeply troubling. The American people deserve transparency and accountability, not obfuscation and political manipulation. Aber's caseload involving CIA leaks, Russian cybercrime, and intelligence matters was of profound national importance. Allowing her work to be erased and her death to be whitewashed would deal a severe blow to the rule of law and democratic principles. A comprehensive investigation must be launched immediately, involving independent authorities outside the current Justice Department's purview. Aber's family, colleagues, and the public have a right to know the truth behind her untimely demise. Failure to do so would not only dishonor her legacy but also enable the continuation of a disturbing pattern of authoritarian overreach and disregard for judicial integrity.
