Stop unlawful deportations, protect due process and civil liberties

To: Rep. Ansari, Sen. Gallego, Sen. Kelly

From: A constituent in Phoenix, AZ

March 31

We must take a firm stance against the unlawful and unethical deportations orchestrated by the current administration, which are flagrantly disregarding due process and targeting individuals based solely on their ethnicity. The case of Frengel Reyes Mota, a Venezuelan national with no criminal record who was wrongfully deported to a Salvadoran megaprison due to blatant administrative errors, is a glaring example of the injustices being perpetrated. Reyes Mota had a pending asylum case and no affiliation with any criminal gangs, yet he was forcibly removed from the United States without any lawful removal order or opportunity to present his case in court. This egregious violation of his rights and the rule of law is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated. Deporting individuals indiscriminately under the guise of targeting gang members, while relying solely on racial profiling and faulty records, is a reprehensible practice that must be condemned. We urge you to take immediate action to halt these unlawful deportations, protect the due process rights of all individuals, and hold the administration accountable for their discriminatory and unconstitutional actions. The targeting of specific ethnic groups and the disregard for established legal procedures undermine the very principles upon which our nation was founded. It is imperative that we uphold the rule of law and prevent further erosion of civil liberties and human rights.
