I urge you as the people's representative to do whatever you can to stop the genocide in Palestine. When our country decided to enable a genocide that is still happening today it dishonored my Japanese-American Grandpa and the 442nd unit he served in during WWII. It also dishonors my other Grandpa who helped liberate Dachau. He showed me pictures of the train loads of bodies he saw when entering at concentration camp
The sacrifices they made for this country, that should stand for human rights and democracy, have been overshadowed with violent bombs that we pay for with our taxes that are decimating a whole group of people and the land they are from.
I watch this live streamed every day because I never want to lose sense of my humanity. I love our country but unfortunately our leaders on the Democrat and Republican sides have not led us to freedom and democracy. I am no longer proud to say I'm an American.
I was raised by Democrats, and will go to my grave with Democratic values. I want my leaders to reflect those values. Please do more to stop the violence, anywhere but especially Palestine. It's a horrific tragedy that you have the power to influence and promote peace.
