An Open Letter

To: Sen. Menéndez, Rep. Dorazio, Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick

From: A verified voter in San Antonio, TX

March 6

Published reports indicate the legislature is considering a pair of bills to add the so-called “ten commandments” and prayer to classrooms around the state. Please be advised, that when I talk with Texans, we are not asking for either the commandments or prayer in our public-schools or public-institutions. Furthermore, there is no support for Christian teachings in public schooling whatsoever. The law and our traditions are clear, faith, religion and schooling shall not mix. I urge you to speak out against these bills and work to stop pushing works of faith in public school, kindergarten, or daycare. The best and only place for religion is at home or in your place of worship. I will not support you further unless you work to stop these abuses once and for all. Thank you for your time, good day and please be well.
