There is so much I want to unpack here, but I’ll leave it to one subject at a time. This one is tied to trans rights. I am a friend of the LGBTQ+ community. I have friends who are gay, and I have friends whose kids are trans. I believe that you are you. You should have a choice on who you love, who you marry, and who you choose to become to have a happy and fulfilled life. You should be able to choose your profession and enjoy your life. But what I don’t believe is that the rights of one group should trample the rights of another. Specifically, I am appalled and pissed that Democrats are pushing back on the Executive Order to not allow trans men to participate in women’s sports. If you have a daughter who has competed in sports her entire life, only to be displaced or injured by a trans male, you would understand the passion many people feel about this subject. My daughter was a competitive swimmer for 10 years. She worked her tail off to be the best she could be in her sport. It would have been devastating to her to lose her position on the podium to a man. In our lives, there are consequences for our actions. If you are trans, one of those consequences should be that you are not allowed to compete against women if you are a biological male. As a Democrat, I see you focusing on this issue, versus tackling more important issues like the dismantling of our government. I see speeches, but I don’t see action. So please, set aside your fight for trans rights when it comes to women’s sports. Instead, focus on ridding the government of Elon Musk and DOGE. Focus on our government employees, our corporate watchdogs. Focus on the protection of our social security, our healthcare, our finances. These are more important right now. Once we get that under control so that we are not decimated by the time mid-terms come around. Our democracy is at stake right now. That has to be more important than anything else you are doing. Make sure that Democrats, Independents and Republicans see that our way is better.
