As a voter and a constituent in my 30s, I have been a member of the workforce since I was 17. I’ve done everything myself. I’m the first person in my family to graduate from college. I went to college to make a better life for myself. I never could have gone if it weren’t for student loans. I’ve never missed a single payment. I’ve never missed a single payment on anything. I’ve worked three jobs when I’ve had to. The only debt that I have in my life is student loan debt and I pay every single payment, as I have since 2013 when I graduated. If income based repayment or income driven, repayment ends, I will be unable to afford the standard payments. I truly wish that I made more every year, but I deeply love my job and I’m very happy with what I do. Unfortunately, in my business, money does not come easy. However, I have earned everything that I have and I’m very proud of my life. Please consider advocating for income based repayment for student loans. I want to pay my loans. I was a 17-year-old kid when I took these loans out. I received zero help from my parents. I graduated college with honors. I’m not making excuses, and I’m grateful for every step I’ve taken. If I could go back to when I was 17 though, I would have gone to community college first to save money. Please advocate for IBR/IDR so I can continue being a productive member of society and saving to buy a house.
Thank you for your time.
