Once again, President Trump has demonstrated his platform is going to severely affect Americans with his recent tariff announcements. ho rallied for 25 hours to filibuster the presidents plans, practically no one has stood up for Americans and common sense. The fall in the stock market this morning is a perfect example. It is congresses duty to rein in presidential overreach, but aside from Senator Booker, w Add this to the unprecedented and mostly destructive random cuts to programs and positions across the board in government, and we will not be seeing Amer ica be great any time in the next couple decades, as it will take future leaders a long time to fully reverse the damage being done to the country. federal prisons where case loads were very heavy, which could easily lead to increased violence in the prisons. Just a couple small examples, rising prices the tariffs will cause, loss of critical healthcare jobs such as laying off psychiatric service providers at Next, cutting key important positions in studying and tracking issues in substance use such that Healthcare workers won't have the necessary knowledge pa rtners to successfully continue to combat addictions nationally. Add to that cutting off USAID means China or Russia or Iran will be the countries making many allies in the world instead of the US. These countries, instead of having good feelings toward the US, foreign propaganda from these world actors will increase threats to America. And my final example, cutting off the CDC from association with WHO means diseases that were able to be halted from entering the US (like the Zika virus and Ebola) could now now be able to take a foothold in America. Add tax breaks for the wealthy who already pay a smaller proportion of their living money (money needed to survive day to day), than most Americans, and we are going to find ourselves not in a recession, but a depression, with Hoovervilles (maybe renamed Trumpvilles) popping up across the country as people can't afford rent, or find jobs, or lose their homes. The picture is pretty bleak, and Congress should be the solution. Act on it. A concerned citizen!
