I am calling on you to loudly protest the illegal arrest of Mahmoud Khalil in congress and on your public facing platforms. As an elected official and a decent person, it is your duty to stand up against this gross human rights violation. Mahmoud Khalil is a legal resident with a pregnant wife who was exercising his right to protest. As a pregnant woman myself, I cannot imagine the fear and distress his wife is feeling right now. You must be part of the vocal resistance against this deeply disturbing act of authoritarianism.
