I am writing to express my deep concern over the current administration’s consolidation of financial power, particularly President Trump’s decision to control federal funding without proper Congressional oversight. This alarming shift undermines the foundational principles of our democracy and the system of checks and balances designed to prevent executive overreach.
With the President bypassing Congress and dictating the allocation of federal funds, it is clear that we are no longer experiencing true representation in government. This is a direct violation of one of the core values upon which our nation was built: no taxation without representation. If our voices and elected representatives are being disregarded, then the people of New Jersey—and the nation as a whole—should no longer be expected to fund a government that does not represent them.
I urge you to take a stand against this unconstitutional power grab. New Jersey must explore all available avenues to challenge this federal overreach, whether through legal action, state-level policy measures, or public advocacy. Our state should not be complicit in financing a government that disregards democratic norms and the will of the people.
I appreciate your leadership and commitment to protecting New Jerseyans from unjust and undemocratic policies. I look forward to your response and any action you may take to address this critical issue.
