Republican leadership has instructed party members to stop holding public events like town halls, claiming they are being disrupted by "paid protestors." However, Americans deserve the opportunity to directly engage with their elected representatives and hold them accountable. A true commitment to transparency and democracy would involve scheduling highly publicized town hall meetings weeks in advance during accessible weekend hours rather than avoiding constituents behind closed doors during workdays. Give the public a fair chance to attend, ask questions, and voice concerns without surprise timing or overcrowding excuses. Refusing open dialogue erodes trust in the political process. Re-evaluate this counterproductive policy and demonstrate a genuine willingness to face the people you represent.
