The Department of Education plays a critical role in ensuring equal educational opportunities for all children across the country. Dismantling it would jeopardize access to quality education, especially for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, those with disabilities, and other marginalized communities. Every child deserves an equitable chance at academic success, regardless of their circumstances. Protecting the Department of Education should be a national priority, as a strong public education system lifts up society as a whole. Opposing H.R. 899 and the executive order to dismantle the department is imperative to uphold our shared commitment to providing all students with the tools they need to thrive and reach their full potential.
