An Open Letter

To: Sen. Cotton, Sen. Boozman, Rep. Hill

From: A constituent in Jacksonville, AR

March 25

My family has been in America since the 1700s. I am beginning to feel like cattle, especially when I read that ALL recipients of Social Security benefits have to appear in person with documents to verify identity. What about elderly in nursing homes? Are they going to bus these sick people to a local office? What about hospitals? Thank God, I am healthy and I do have transport. I do dread standing in line for hours to prove what the government already knows. I just got a real ID 2 years ago. Is that not enough proof? If this is required, I advocate for more government resources to do this unprecedented task. Personally I think it is stupid. What will happen is many people will be unable to make the trip to an office for whatever reason. Then, their benefits will be cut off ...Lookie here, fraud, corruption, look at how much money we saved the government! Nursing homes will discharge anyone who cannot pay for care. There has to be a better way. Please help all the millions of people this will affect personally. Please speak reason. Congress
