Reject voter suppression bill, protect democracy
To: Rep. Scanlon
From: A verified voter in Media, PA
April 1
This bill would create significant barriers to voter registration by requiring documentary proof of U.S. citizenship. This unduly burdens the fundamental right to vote, disproportionately impacting marginalized communities. I urge you to oppose this legislation which threatens to disenfranchise eligible voters and undermine faith in our elections. Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy, and any measures restricting access must be scrutinized and rejected if they lack legitimate justification. We should be working to make voting more accessible, not erecting unnecessary hurdles. I hope you will stand firm against attempts to weaken our democratic institutions.
