Washingtonians are coming together to demand progressive revenue. We the voters gave lawmakers a mandate at the ballot box this past fall by supporting a capital gains tax which funds schools and child care through a tax paid by a few thousand multimillionaires. Now you, one of our elected officials, face the same easy choice that voters made in November: Slash the budgets that are critical for teachers and social programs, or pass the progressive proposals on the table to fund these important programs by increasing the taxes paid by the rich folks who have most benefited from our systems. The choice is clear. Save Washington state by having the wealthy pay their fair share.
