We must resist any attempts by the United States to acquire Greenland through military force or coercion. Greenland is a self-governing territory of Denmark, a NATO ally. Taking hostile action against Greenland would violate international law and damage relations with our allies. For the sake of world peace and international security, the U.S. should immediately cease threatening rhetoric about annexing Greenland against the will of its people and government. Using military might to seize territory from allies is a reckless act that could destabilize the entire rules-based international order. We call on the U.S. administration to respect the sovereignty of Greenland and Denmark, and pursue diplomatic solutions through proper channels if there are national security concerns to be addressed cooperatively. Resorting to wars of aggression against allies is unacceptable and will only undermine America's global standing.
