Why aren't you communicating with your constituents?
To: Rep. Pressley
From: A verified voter in Brighton, MA
March 6
I am a former U.S. Digital Service employee who was fired by DOGE on February 14. Before I was fired, I was detailed to the VA, where I oversaw information security for VA.gov. It was a critical role, and it likely to remain unfilled for the foreseeable future, or at least not filled by anyone with nearly the same level of skill and experience that I have.
I live in Brighton, and I signed up for your constituent email list over a month ago, on February 3. Since then I have received only 1 email from you about the crisis that has been unfolding in the federal government since January 20.
I don't understand. How can this be? Why are you not sending emails out to your constituent email list every single telling people what new damage DOGE has done and urging them to get involved in the resistance?
We elected you to be a leader. Why aren't you leading the resistance to the fascist coup being carried out against our democracy?
The GOP figured out decades ago that the way you keep your base activated is to rile them up constantly, to keep them angry through constant, ongoing communication, not just during campaign season, but all the time. But the way the GOP keeps its base angry is by lying and inventing enemies (the ACA, abortion, trans people, "aliens", etc.) for them to be angry at. You could be using the same strategy, with one critical difference: you don't need to make anything up, because everyone in this country should rightly be enraged by the truth of what's actually happening.
Why haven't the Democrats figured out in all this time how to use this extraordinarily effective strategy?
Please, for the sake of our failing democracy, figure it out.
