I am writing to strongly oppose the executive order calling for the elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). This agency is vital to libraries, museums, archives, and the communities that access them across Michigan which provide essential funding for literacy programs, public internet access, historical preservation, and workforce development. I urge you to publicly oppose this action and support legislation to protect IMLS funding and its existence as a fundamental service. Please stand with our libraries and museums by fighting for this indispensable institution.
