Oppose harmful Medicaid work requirements threatening healthcare access
To: Sen. Lofgren, Rep. Collins
From: A constituent in Nichols, IA
March 28
The implementation of work requirements for Iowa's Medicaid program would result in thousands losing access to essential health coverage and care. Studies show similar policies in other states have not increased employment, but have caused vulnerable individuals to lose Medicaid coverage due to issues like unreported income changes or lack of transportation. Losing health coverage makes it even harder to find and keep employment. I urge you to oppose these harmful and counterproductive work requirements that would jeopardize the health and well-being of many Iowans who rely on Medicaid.
