Preserve Title I funding for high-poverty schools

To: Rep. Harris, Sen. Van Hollen, Sen. Alsobrooks

From: A constituent in Salisbury, MD

March 6

My son attends a Title I school, so funding for high-poverty schools would be jeopardized if the Department of Education is eliminated as proposed in H.R. 899. Terminating the department threatens essential federal assistance that supports educational resources and opportunities for disadvantaged students like those at my son's school. Children from low-income families rely on Title I allocations to their schools to receive the quality education they deserve. Preserving this vital program must be a priority.
