Sir, Here is a news report on the desires of the President as regards the sovereignty of the territory of a NATO ally, Denmark. “We need Greenland, very importantly, for international security," the president told reporters at the White House. "We have to have Greenland. It's not a question of, 'Do you think we can do without it?' We can't." Mr. Trump hasn't ruled out military force in Greenland, while Vance on Friday said he believes the people of Greenland will seek independence from Denmark. A reporter asked Vance if his message is consistent with the president's. Vance said the president wants more of a U.S. presence in Greenland, but "the president has said clearly he doesn't think that military force is going to be necessary." This is the argument of a leader and his Vice President that wish to set the stage in the country’s collective mind that military invasion of a sovereign country, a NATO ally no less and member of the European Union, is good and necessary. If this does not wake you up to the unstable and dangerous rhetoric of the President, then you are making a historic blunder. Are you willing to remain quite and risk war with a unified Europe? Are you willing to go along with shedding American blood for what amounts to imperialist expansion? Do the lessons of Ukraine not resonate with you? Wake up, sir. You are being led down a path, should it be allowed to come to fruition, that will haunt you all the rest of your life.
