IS THERE ANYONE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING IN THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION?

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Pfluger, Sen. Cruz

From: A verified voter in Mason, TX

March 26

Signalgate fallout… Mike Waltz told Fox he takes ‘full responsibility’ for putting together text group that included a journalist. This after Trump effectively acknowledged Waltz’s mistake, telling NBC News that his national security advisor “has learned a lesson.” Monday, the WH confirmed the legitimacy of The Atlantic’s report. A day later, the president told reporters that his administration would investigate the incident. The National Security Council also confirmed that an internal review was underway. The next day, WH Communications Director Steven Cheung rejected the legitimacy of the story, accused “Fake News outlets” of peddling “misinformation,” and accused unnamed critics of being “enemies of America.” That was followed by a related post from WH press secretary Karoline Leavitt, declaring that the “entire story” is “another hoax.” Why would the president approve an internal review of an incident that’s a “hoax”? It doesn’t help that both Trump and top members of his national security team insisted that the Signal group chat did not include classified information. Ticktock and methods to bomb another country not classified? Who hired these people? As for Waltz, who said that he takes “full responsibility” for the FUBAR, also tried out the old bob and weave and added a conspiracy theory on top…that the reporter he himself invited somehow weaseled his way into the chat. While throwing around “scum“ and “liar” for good measure. Apparently the lesson learned is to smear a reporter who was handed the story of year by a man trusted with our national security. And to never totally say you’re sorry for anything. Even the security breach of a generation. Whatever happened to judgment and competence and ‘the best people’? The constant barrage of immature insults in lieu of coherent leadership is wearing very thin. We don’t want schoolyard taunts to Every, Single, Thing. But such is the state of leadership in the Trump administration when faced with, well, most anything. Incoherence. Carelessness. Recklessness. Petty insults. Is this the best y’all can do?
