I am asking that you take immediate action to fight Donald Trump’s executive order dismantling the Department of Education. This order puts billions in school funding, special education programs, and student loan assistance at risk, and must be stopped before students and educators suffer its devastating consequences. Please publicly commit to opposing any budget that cuts public education funding. Also, introduce and support emergency legislation such as Congresswoman Jahana Hayes' "Department of Education Protection Act" (H.R. 433) Use every tool available—public statements, floor speeches, media interviews—to expose Trump’s plan and hold Republicans accountable for enabling it. They must be held accountable for such an unpopular policy.
