Our public lands should remain accessible to all Americans, not sold off for private development and profit. Federal lands belong to the people and must be protected for future generations to enjoy. While increasing affordable housing is crucial, paving over pristine wilderness and opening these treasured spaces to unchecked construction is unacceptable. There are better solutions that don't sacrifice our shared natural heritage. I urge you to reconsider this misguided proposal and instead explore sustainable housing policies that preserve public lands and green spaces. The short-term economic gains are not worth the permanent loss of our nation's natural bounty. Affordable housing can be achieved through smarter urban planning, incentives for affordable units, and support for first-time homebuyers - not by raiding federal lands. Reject this land transfer scheme and keep our public lands public.
