Double standard should not exist
To: Rep. Fallon
From: A constituent in Plano, TX
March 10
I’m writing to express my concern over the apparent double standards in how disruptions during State of the Union addresses are handled. Recently, Rep. Al Green faced censure for his protest during President Trump’s address, yet similar interruptions by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert during President Biden’s speeches went unpunished. This inconsistency undermines the credibility of congressional decorum standards and raises questions about fairness and accountability.
As public servants, it’s crucial to uphold impartiality in enforcing rules, regardless of political affiliation. I urge you to address this issue and ensure that all members of Congress are held to the same standards.
