Hello Gov. Little. I am writing to request that you veto the Execution by Firing Squad bill. This is an inhumane way to end the lives of people in the criminal justice system. Firing squads are barbaric and this bill would allow a new generation of murders to be committed. HB 37 would make Idaho the only state with the firing squad as the primary execution method, and will create terrible optics for our state. To quote Senator Dan Foreman, a veteran and retired police officer, “Projecting a piece of metal at 3,200 feet-per-second, give or take, through the human body is anything but humane. I can say that because I’ve seen it. I wished I hadn’t seen it.” Please veto this horrendous bill.
