Yesterday we witnessed a shocking level of lying, evasion, and misrepresentation from those involved in Signalgate.
Whether or not a journalist was included, the use of the signal app for highly confidential military planning remains illegal, contravenes dod policy directives, and endangers our nation. It was done to prevent leaving a trail of auditable breadcrumbs and that is grossly against all policy.
We know know that Wittkowitz was in the Kremlin when he visited the chat and Tulsi Gabbard was in an undisclosed foreign country.
I am more than alarmed that those responsible are trying to lie and deflect their way out of the worst security breach of this century, maybe of the past hundred years, and worse, I do not see any action from your office to do a damn thing about it.
I don't need to spell out all the implications of this scandal-- the harm to our credibility and alliances, the potential danger to Americans in the armed services, the violation of the official records act as well as 18 USC 793 f.
Immediate resignations and dismissals should have followed.
This is the direct consequence of your votes to confirm. Please learn a lesson, swallow your hubris, and do not confirm such persons who lack the required credentials, experience, and personal good character. Going forward.
Please do not let this scandal rest. Investigate, make criminal referrals, impeach those involved. The impeachment charges that follow should include the president who has a duty to see that the laws are faithfully executed but in this instance has condoned illegality that endangers our national security.
No one who swore an oath to the constitution should let this matter rest. Use this as your opportunity to be on the right side of history and to let your actions show they match to what you claim to represent.
