Save Ohio post offices!

To: Rep. Newman, Sen. Huffman, Gov. DeWine

From: A constituent in West Milton, OH

March 25

I love that Hang on Sloopy is our official rock song. I love spelling Ohio during the chorus. My aunt taught that to me. The aunt who currently works for the United States Postal Service. Hello. The USPS chief warns post offices could disappear, details DOGE cuts. What are we doing. Why are we treating the United States Postal Service as a business? Not everything needs to make money. It’s a service provided to the constituents you say you serve. How are you going to keep Ohio post offices safe? It is imperative that you champion the post office for what it is, to not give more money to big mail like Amazon and FedEx. Ohioans need the right to be able to communicate through mail. The mail needs to be accessible to everyone and if we privatize it, it will only cause problems, especially for rural voters in small communities, many of which you serve. Keep the USPS around so that rural and isolated Ohio communities can be connected! I remember having to walk to the post office to get mail when my family and I lived in Frankfort, OH. Without that post office, would we have gotten our mail? This will also put more strain on our current postal workers, and I want you to care for blue collar federal workers in your areas. Stand up to the illegal group called DOGE that has no congressional approval and a leader who was not voted in as president. Musk and DOGE have got to go! Save Ohio post offices!
