Protect vital 340b program for affordable healthcare access

To: Sen. Cramer, Gov. Armstrong, Sen. Hoeven, Rep. Stemen, Pres. Trump, Sen. Roers, Rep. Fedorchak

From: A constituent in Horace, ND

March 16

The federal 340b program plays a crucial role in providing affordable prescription medications to vulnerable communities, including low-income, rural, and underserved populations. The baseless allegations made by the Elon Musk-backed group against this program and its supporters are not only misleading but also threaten to undermine essential healthcare services. Their claims about subsidizing gender transition procedures for minors are completely unfounded and seem to be a malicious tactic to discredit the program. We must prioritize facts over sensationalism when it comes to policies impacting public health. The 340b program has been instrumental in improving healthcare access and affordability, especially in rural areas where resources are limited. Attempts to undermine it through disinformation campaigns are detrimental to the well-being of our communities. It is imperative that lawmakers like Rep. Jon Nelson continue their efforts to expand and strengthen the 340b program, ensuring greater access to discounted medications for those who need it most. Providing affordable healthcare should be a non-partisan issue, and we must reject baseless attacks that jeopardize the health and well-being of our citizens.
