I am outraged that top Cabinet officials—including the Vice President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Adviser—used a commercial messaging app to discuss classified war plans for Yemen. Even more shocking, they accidentally included a journalist in the group chat.
This reckless breach of national security exposes not only the incompetence of the Trump administration but also its disregard for oversight, the chain of command, and the rule of law. It endangers our national security and puts our military personnel at serious risk. This level of negligence is unacceptable.
In any functional administration, such carelessness would be unimaginable. But under Trump, it's yet another example of a government prioritizing loyalty over competence, secrecy over transparency, and militarism over diplomacy. Congress must take a stand.
As my representative, I urge you to call for the immediate resignations of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz.
Furthermore, Congress must exercise real oversight. You are a coequal branch of government—start acting like it. If you don’t, you may soon find yourselves out of a job.
