President Trump is quoted in numerous newspapers today as saying that "We" will "take" Greenland in anyway necessary for national and international security.
I urge you to do everything in your power to find your backbone, remember that your role is that of representing your constituents, and stand up to Trump on this dangerous rhetoric. Because "We" do not want war, and "We" do not want our allies to become our enemies.
It doesn't matter what the "justification" is. So if you are actually reading this stop your "yes, but" comment right now.
In the messages released by The Atlantic our Vice President stated that he doesn't believe that the President has his messaging right about defending the Suez shipping lane, because Europe shouldn't be being bailed out.
For once I agree with Vance. The messaging of NOT paying for defense through NATO, and cutting all funding to USAID, is made a mockery of by wanting to "Take Greenland" for "International Security".
JD Vance this week said that he was going to Greenland to "Check out the security" because "many countries have threatened Greenland".
I urge you to ask JD Vance to share the list of countries that have threatened Greenland. Hand that list to Denmark, and let the Danish government seek assistance from NATO and the EU. Why are we being asked to pay for that?
I know, and you know, that "Taking Greenland" has absolutely nothing to do with security. We both know that it's all to do with the untapped minerals.
How do we know? Because Vice President Vance has told us, publicly and openly.
So, again, I urge you to do find your backbone and remember your duty. We do not want a war. If you do not stand against it, then you are for it. History will remember, and Ohio will remember, which side you were on.
If you do not stand up for America by trying to reign in the war rants of the President then that will be one more nail in the coffin of your political career as "We" support your replacement.
