I am worried for my country. I am worried for our world. While words from some elected officials have been empathetic, deeds from legislators have been absent. Right now, much of America, much of Maine is clueless. No one is providing the information to restore confidence. Our nation recently engaged in combat operations with orders to do so apparently being given by the Vice-President, not the President. Signal-gate makes it clear Moscow apparently knew about this operation before our President Trump did. I suspect much of this country, perhaps even you, are not familiar with Curtis Yarvin. He is the leader of the “Dark Enlightenment.” His disciples include J.D. Vance, Elon Musk, and Peter Thiel, all of whom have the President’s ear. Yarvin does not believe in a Constitutional Democracy. His essential belief is Democracy is done. American democracy should be replaced by what he calls a “monarch,” run by what he has called a “C.E.O.” Well dang, isn’t that what we are seeing happen now? From 1830 to 1914 Europe was bathed in regional wars. In 1914 WWI exploded. After WWI the United States, “America First Committee,” refused to join the League of Nations. The result just some twenty years later was WWII. Today our country is led by a President and Vice President under the spell of Curtis Yarvin. They openly state America First. Mr. Trump and Mr. Vance both do not support NATO. Last week, in his not-so-secret, classified text, Mr. Vance stated he is tired of bailing out Europe. With this leadership, Russia is amassing troops on its western border, expecting it will get out of Ukraine with what it wanted, and it can begin its assault on Poland. As I write this, European NATO countries are gearing up for war. Europe is in the verge of a major continental war not seen since the creation of the United Nations and NATO. The reason why is because these organizations lack the support of the USA.            Putin is emboldened.  Europe is feeling abandoned by the USA. Sweden has deployed jets specifically designed to counter the “The Russian Air Force. Poland has reinstated a draft to raise and train an Army. Even Germany is developing Armed Forces. Yes, the time is now that serious.  What can we expect in a world where Canada and the USA are no longer friends? All of this is because of one man. Our elected politicians have no choice. They can save the world by impeaching Mr. Trump, or they continue their cowardice and have thousands die. We the People who vote, must give these politicians a spine. And I believe we have. We the People who vote are today’s minuteman. Phone calls, Emails, Protests are our weapons. Time to go to war virtually, before others go to war physically. We the People must demonstrate to Curtis Yarvin and our elected officials; Democracy is not done.
