I’m a former teacher in Oklahoma and I’m writing to ask my member of Congress to call for the resignation of Michael Waltz as National Security Advisor and the public reprimand of all officials with classified clearance who participated in that thread but were too ignorant to notice a reporter.
As a teacher, if I disclose confidential student information, I could lose my job. Waltz is ostensibly one of our highest ranking security officials. Should public school teachers be held to higher standards for data security than federal cabinet members? That’s ridiculous on its face.
Any person doing any job who screwed up as spectacularly as this “merit hire” cabinet would be fired and rightfully so. The stupidity and arrogance it takes to talk about war actions on an unsecured app is disqualifying for continued public service. You continuing to support this circus is disqualifying for your continued public service. You’re serving Trump, not Oklahomans. Not Americans. Not the Constitution.
Waltz needs to go, the rest of them need to be reprimanded, and you should consider growing a backbone and sticking up for your constituents, even when it goes against Trump and Musk.
