The proposed GOP budget cuts targeting Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program are unacceptable and must be firmly rejected. These critical programs provide essential healthcare coverage for tens of millions of vulnerable Americans, including low-income families, children, seniors, and those with disabilities. According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, the Republicans' goal of slashing $880 billion in spending cannot be achieved without devastating these vital safety net programs. Protecting Medicaid and Medicare should be a top priority, as dismantling or weakening these programs would have catastrophic consequences, stripping healthcare from those who need it most. These reckless cuts are being pursued solely to fund tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations, sacrificing the wellbeing of millions for the benefit of a privileged few. This is a matter of utmost moral urgency. I urge you to stand firm in defense of Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP. Reject any budget proposals that jeopardize access to healthcare for vulnerable populations. Ensure these lifeline programs remain fully funded and intact, safeguarding the health and security of all Americans. The human cost of these proposed cuts is simply too high. Protect Medicaid by vetoing any legislation that undermines it.
