The continuing resolution for funding the government must not be passed in its current form. It locks in Elon Musk's illegal and unauthorized cuts, in essence validating a process that obviates Congress's "power of the purse" as enumerated in the constitution.
Musk's attacks on activities already approved by Congress are being accomplished through a made up agency that itself was not authorized by Congress through our legislature's right and responsibility to exercise its power to advise and consent. This goes beyond the immediate budget questions to create new norms that abdicate Congress's responsibilities and ability to act as a check on the executive branch, not just now, but going forward.
This is not only unacceptable on its face but makes a mockery of our constitution and the powers granted to our federal legislative representatives granted by voters.
