Reject stopgap, fund social programs and environmental protections

To: Sen. Merkley, Rep. Hoyle, Sen. Wyden

From: A constituent in Blue River, OR

March 11

As my Representative you have a responsibility to safeguard the needs and best interests of all constituents. This continuing resolution fails to sufficiently fund vital social services, nutrition assistance programs, and community investments that directly impact the well-being of everyday Americans. Instead of prioritizing corporate interests and excessive military spending, I implore you to reject this bill and work towards a comprehensive budget that adequately supports affordable healthcare, quality education, environmental protections, and economic opportunities for working families. A short-term funding patch neglects the opportunity to enact meaningful, transformative change that uplifts all people. Responsible governance demands addressing the real needs of your constituents over partisan politics.
