Stop HR 1295 and Preserve the Separation of Powers

To: Sen. Cassidy, Rep. Carter, Sen. Kennedy

From: A verified voter in New Orleans, LA

March 30

This proposal raises grave concerns about the separation of powers enshrined in our Constitution. Granting unilateral authority to the president to reorganize the entire federal government, eliminating congressional oversight, is an alarming overreach that undermines our system of checks and balances. Such a sweeping transfer of legislative powers to the executive branch bears disturbing parallels to the Enabling Act that paved the way for fascist rule in Germany. We must adamantly reject any measure that so flagrantly disregards our founding principles of limited government and co-equal branches. Protecting our democratic institutions demands that Congress firmly uphold its constitutional role as a co-equal branch of government. I implore you to stand against this dangerous bill and preserve the sacred system of checks and balances that has safeguarded our republic for over two centuries.
