The Trump administration may want to sweep the Signal scandal under the rug, but this is far from over. A private military chat — discussing an imminent bombing campaign — was infiltrated by a civilian journalist, and the White House calls it a closed case? That’s delusional and dangerous.
The unsecured Signal thread included:
• National Security Advisor Mike Waltz
• Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth
• Vice President JD Vance
• CIA Director John Ratcliffe
• Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard
• And, unbelievably, Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic
This wasn’t an accident. It was a gross, reckless breach of national security by the president’s top team. Waltz should already be out of a job. So should anyone who approved, tolerated, or ignored the use of private messaging apps for classified discussions.
This is what happens when you don’t hire the best — when you fill critical positions with loyalists instead of professionals who understand how government works. Trump surrounded himself with enablers who would look the other way as he trampled rules, protocols, and the Constitution itself.
A vague “we’ve taken steps” isn’t justice. This demands a full investigation, firings at every level, and the removal of the incompetent loyalists who let this national security disaster unfold.
