I urge you to reject the Republican bill to fund the government through September. This bill was crafted without input from Democrats and advances policies that undermine core values of supporting workers, protecting the environment, and promoting equity. A government shutdown is disruptive, but allowing this one-sided legislation to move forward enables further erosion of vital programs and empowers an administration openly hostile to Democratic priorities. We must take a principled stand against this bill and demand a negotiated solution that addresses the needs of all Americans, not just those of corporations and the wealthy few. Governing should not be a zero-sum game, and this moment calls for real leadership and compromise from both parties. I call on you to vote no on advancing this flawed proposal.
