Do not abolish and privatize the TSA and keep the Affordable Care Act!

To: Sen. Thune, Sen. Rounds, Pres. Trump, Rep. Johnson

From: A verified voter in Sioux Falls, SD

March 28

The proposal to abolish the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and privatize airport security raises serious concerns about compromising public safety. The TSA was established in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to strengthen security measures and prevent future tragedies. Dismantling this agency could leave vulnerabilities in our transportation systems and put the lives of travelers at risk. Furthermore, the suggestion to dismantle the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a misguided move that would have devastating consequences for millions of Americans. The ACA has provided access to affordable healthcare for individuals with pre-existing conditions, expanded Medicaid coverage, and allowed young adults to remain on their parents' insurance plans. Repealing this legislation would strip away these crucial protections and leave many without access to essential medical care. Both proposals prioritize ideological agendas over the well-being of constituents. Instead, efforts should be focused on strengthening existing systems, addressing any inefficiencies or shortcomings through thoughtful reform, and ensuring the health and safety of all citizens remain the top priorities. Reckless actions that jeopardize public welfare should be reconsidered in favor of more measured, evidence-based approaches.
